Bond Arms Derringers
Bond Arms is a Texas-based manufacturer of single-action double-barrel derringers. For those of you who don’t know, derringers are small pocket handguns that technically are neither semi-auto pistols nor revolvers. Though pocket pistols were manufactured from the 1700s, it was Henry Deringer’s single-shot 41-caliber handgun that revolutionized the industry and introduced the design we all know and love.
Today, we have several derringer manufacturers, but Bond Arms is the largest in the USA. Greg Bond’s idea was to fuse the design of a derringer with the over-under barrel configuration of the Remington Model 95. That’s how we got extremely popular, reliable, and cool Bond Arms handguns.
Why You May Need a Bond Derringer
These guns are ideal EDC. Yes, you have only two shots before reloading. But in other respects, these guns are great. While small sight radius and short barrels reduce accuracy and distance, this shouldn’t be a problem in a close-quarter self-defense situation. The benefit is that Bond Arms derringers are easy to load, shoot, and reload due to their break-action design.
