Great 2011 value but with some gimmicks

Posted by Shiryu on May 26th 2025

Pros: Value is great for what you’re getting without spending $$$, can take prodigy (minus the extended prodigy mags, will work but a tight fit. Need to press up on the magazine while holding the mag release button in order for it to drop), STI/Staccato, checks magazines. Trigger is fine for the price. Ambi safety, and extended slide release. Cons: Grip isn’t the best, highly recommend swapping it out if you’re prone to have sweaty hands. Front fiber optic wasn’t bulbed correctly, had it fall out within two magazines. No big deal to replace but should’ve been addressed during QC. Haven’t tried putting the Agency Arms RMR optic plate but I’ve heard that the screws that come with it will not sit flush, thus unscrewing the optic off the mount. Other owners recommend buying a better set of screws to fix the issue. Also no big deal but just a warning. Conclusion: First ever “2011” and I’m really enjoying it. Shot around 500-600 rounds with maybe 2-3 failed into batteries. Hit the back of the slide and it was no problem. No FTE, shot very smooth and accurate. I’ve tried Federal 115 grain FMJ and Aguila 124 grain FMJ and it cycled through those with no issues. Highly recommend if you’re wanting to step into the 1911/2011 world or already have for the value. With some minor upgrades, this would be a great platform at the fraction of the cost.
