.300 AAC Blackout is one of the most popular cartridges due to its versatility. Such cartridges are highly popular among shooters who use silencers.
Initially, the .300 AAC Blackout ammo was developed by a collaboration of Advanced Armament Corp and Remington at the end of the first decade of the 21st century by order of the US Armed Forces. This cartridge was created as .30 caliber ammunition for self-loading and automatic M4 carbines. It was officially registered in 2011 by the American Armament Association SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute). Since then, the cartridge has become a popular choice for both hunters and soldiers.
.300 Blackout AAC is very similar to .300 Whisper. The reason for such cloning was the fact that the American special forces could purchase cartridges standardized by the American SAAMI institute, while the .300 Whisper cartridge wasn’t standardized according to SAAMI rules.
Unlike the .300 Whisper caliber, 300 AAC Blackout ammo combines the best qualities such as power increase and a decrease in the initial speed of a bullet. This makes the ammo more stable, improves ballistic performance and accuracy. What is more, the decrease in the charge of gunpowder influences the recoil force and sound of fire.
AAC 300 Blackout is used by hunters where .223 caliber is banned and by those who prefer large-caliber bullets for medium-sized games. The effective distance for hunting is about 300-500 ft.
There are two types of .300 AAC Blackout:
- Subsonic. It’s a heavy bullet, which is suitable for silent shooting at short distances or indoors.
- Supersonic. It’s a light bullet flying out of the barrel at supersonic speed. This type is ideal for average combat.
GRITR Sports offers .300 AAC Blackout ammo for sale. The .300 AAC Blackout cartridge has gained popularity not only among the military but also among US civilians and hunters. It has excellent ballistics, accuracy and does not lose its characteristics even while using silencers. The recoil of the weapon when using this ammunition is very soft and allows you to work with high accuracy even in fully automatic mode.
