We all need companies that push the gun industry forward and raise the bar for gun manufacturing. Though the United States is loaded with such innovative businesses, the industry development isn’t limited to the US contribution only. Gun manufacturers from Germany, Belgium, Turkey, and many others are also worth noticing.
Bergara is a devoted firearms manufacturer based in the city of Bergara in north Spain. You may have never heard of it because of our focus on US-made products. However, we here want to tell a little about the company, what products it’s best known for, and why considering them.
Bergara Barrels
Bergara Barrels was established in 2006, but the venture wouldn’t be successful if not for Ed Shilen, a famous American barrel expert who taught all the secrets of manufacturing centerfire barrels. His help, state-of-the-art equipment, and commitment to quality have made Bergara what it is today.
The process of Bergara precision barrel making is as follows. First, metal bars are checked for deviation, which should be less than .004 of an inch. The following barrel drilling leaves tool marks, which Bergara removes through the honing process. The interior is polished to achieve a mirror-like appearance. Then, the barrel goes into a rifling machine and gets a rifling button drawn throughout its length. Finally, it is heated for stress relief.
Recently, the company introduced CURE Carbon Barrels. They use the technology that allows the heat in the barrel to move, controlling it through weaving continuous stainless-steel strands into the carbon fiber. Such a construction consistently conducts the heat away from the chamber and down the barrel.
