The company started as a firearm importer in 1875, procuring guns from renowned gun manufacturers across the globe to saturate the growing United States market. The business was thriving and steady, but it changed when an investor purchased the company from the founder’s son in 1919. Since then, it changed names and ownerships, was closed for several years, and finally went bankrupt. But, in 2017, a well-known Italian arms manufacturer, Chiappa Firearms, acquired the trademark and reopened the company in Ohio.
Today, the company produces AK pistols, 1911s, shotguns, and other firearms.
Charles Daly 1911
The company manufactures three series of 1911. The Empire Grade and Superior Grade pistols feature enhancements seen on combat guns, such as a flat trigger, a combat hammer, a beavertail grip safety, and dovetail sights. The Filed Grade has a more modest build but is still a great 1911.
Charles Daly Shotguns
The company makes all kinds of shotguns, from pump-action to triple-barreled. For example, The 601 is a series of Charles Daly 20- and 12-gauge semi-auto shotguns made in an array of finishes, from traditional wood to Mossy Oak Bottomland for duck hunting to Mossy Oak Obsession for turkey hunting. The receiver of the Charles Daly 601 is machined from an aluminum alloy solid bar for lightweight and strength.

If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a Charles Daly over-under for sporting clays, consider the Model 214E in 12 gauge. It has a single selective trigger controlled by the top safety and extractors.
Want something less standard? Have a look at the N4S, a Charles Daly bullpup shotgun, or the Charles Daly Honcho, a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun with a 14-inch barrel, a rubberized bird’s head grip, and a long polymer foregrip, or Charles Daly AR-12s.
Charles Daly PAK-9
