Using an invisible Infrared (IR) laser helps to ensure focusing on your sights versus looking for where the laser hits. If you see the laser on your target, you likely were focusing on the target versus your sights. Either red laser or IR are great options, it's up to personal preference and what you want and need to work on.
Dry fire training with your single-action firearm allows to you get first shot feedback. Using a double-action firearms allows you to get feedback on your transitions and splits up to 6 shots, since you don't have to reset the trigger like you do with a single-action handgun. Either way, this is by far the best and most efficient training tool to improve your shooting skills, that is affordable, small and portable and fun.
