The Redding Premium Expander Die is designed for utility, precision, and high production. This Redding Die for reloading of unique design has exceptional value and is indispensable for serious reloaders. What makes the Premium Expander unique is the series of processes it provides as it travels into the case itself. The design of the special expander ensures a proper press fit of bullets, enhances bullet alignment, and increases accuracy.
A radius on the Expanding Die's base eases entry into the case mouth. In addition, the smooth entry radius is followed by the correct expanding diameter for a proper press fit of the bullets. A concentric ring opens the case mouth slightly larger than the bullet diameter to enhance bullet alignment. The final taper can provide a "bellmouth" on the case mouth when desired, usually when using lead bullets. A newly designed expander die with the Redding plug coated in Titanium Nitride adds surface hardness, lubricity, and durability. The TiN coating also reduces brass build-up on the expander as well.
