The Ruger American Rimfire is a right-hand bolt-action rifle chambered in .17 HMR, built for precision, reliability, and compact handling. It features a 16.1-inch cold hammer-forged alloy steel barrel with a 1:9 twist rate and a satin blued finish, providing consistent rifling and long-term durability. The barrel is threaded 1/2 x 28 and fitted with a thread cap, allowing compatibility with common rimfire muzzle devices while maintaining a clean profile when not in use. Feeding is handled by a detachable, flush-mounted 9-round JMX-1 rotary magazine, with additional compatibility for BX-15 Magnum magazines. The satin blued alloy steel receiver incorporates a factory-installed one-piece Picatinny rail for direct optics mounting, while a 60-degree bolt throw delivers smooth operation and ample scope clearance.
