TekMat developed the first schematic gun cleaning mat after the founder grew frustrated with ruining kitchen towels during AR-15 maintenance. The result was a dedicated surface for firearm cleaning and maintenance.
A TekMat cleaning mat uses a soft thermoplastic surface and a thick, non‑skid vulcanized rubber backing. The construction protects workbenches from chemicals, solvents, and oils and helps prevent scratches on firearm finishes. Dye‑sublimated printing displays an exploded parts diagram and a short firearm history. The diagrams help with disassembly and reassembly without referring to a manual. Heat‑transferred ink resists fading and wear, keeping the graphics visible over time.
The company offers designs for more than 60 firearm models. Handgun options include 1911, Glock Gen 4, and M&P Shield models. Sig Sauer models include the Sig P365 and P226. Rifle and shotgun versions include the AK‑47, Remington 870, and Ruger 10/22. Standard and Ultra Premium bench sizes are washable and waterproof for firearm maintenance.
