One of the beauties of the timeless Model 1866 is the brass frame, hence its nickname "Yellowboy". It is not only the feature that makes this rifle instantly recognizable, but also a natural "canvas" on which a metal engraver can express his art at the highest level. With this in mind, Uberti has created this unique Model '66 Deluxe, which sports a polished brass frame embellished with a classically-inspired engraving design.
The rifle was originally chambered in the long-obsolete .44 rimfire. This cartridge, also called the .44 Henry, propelled a 200-gr lead bul-let at a respectable 1100 feet per second. To make it accessible to the modern shooter, however, Uberti chambers it instead for the popular .45 Colt, this centerfire round features similar ballistics as the older rimfire cartridge while being widely available and capable of shooting heavier slugs for better performance on game.
One last thing: however beautiful, these premium Uberti guns are not designed to be safe-queens! They do just as well at the range or in the field as they do on the coffee-table as you show them off to your friends.
