    YHM SURPRISE

Posted by Jon S Baughman on Jun 27th 2026

Gritsports helped me avoid ever purchasing anything else from Yankee Hill. YHM prices are already elevated irregardless of their innovations. I purchased a suppressor ready forearm for my dead air wolfman. Imagine after having gone through the NFA background check, and the wait, finding out that the wolfman would not work with my 5.5" saint vic 9mm pistol. As popular as suppressors have become, there are exceedingly few manufacturers of duty grade/s tier forearms that will actually accommodate a suppressor. I purchased the 7.29" YHM for its 1.75" I.D. and reputation for quality. Needless to say, it was pricey, but an excellent rep. I ordered directly from YHM. They made no mention of the requirements of any proprietary tools. They definitely did not offer a bundle price for purchasing them both because there is no other way to properly make the exchange. When the YHM forearm arrived I was so disappointed, but I thought a barrel nut wrench is under 20 bucks. Even BCG is under 20 bucks. When I looked the wrench up, it was 50 to 70 dollars. I was overjoyed to locate it at Gritsports cheaper than even YHM direct sales. The shipping was immediate. When it arrived I was shocked at how much the thing weighed; it was built like a tank. You could literally use it as a self defense item by itself. LOL Gritsports was fantastic and I will check with them more frequently for my firearm needs. DON'T GET IT WRONG. THE WRENCH WAS EXCELLENT QUALITY, GRITSPORTS SERVICE AND PRICING IS EXEMPLARY, BUT YHM HAVE LOST THEIR WAY.
