There are regions in the USA with a centuries-long history of producing goods. The history of the brand began in 1964 when a young gun designer Douglass McClenahan with rich experience in firearms started his own company. Having previously worked for such prominent players of the industry as Colt, High Standard, and Sturm & Ruger, McClenahan had his vision of a firearm he wanted to make. It was a high-grade, reliable yet affordable handgun with as few moving parts as possible. He channeled that vision when creating the brand’s first handgun, Charter Arms Undercover five-shot revolver chambered in .38 Special. The revolver was an astounding success and became a platform for many other firearms the brand produced.

The most famous revolver that rolled off the brand’s assembly line is a Charter Arms Bulldog, chambered in .44 Special. It rode high during the 80s and even became the brand’s trademark weapon. It is one of the three revolvers featured in the brand’s dog collection, the rest being Charter Arms Pitbull and Pug revolver. All three share the same frame. The company has also released a series of revolvers perfect for concealed carry due to their compact size, a feature that women can truly appreciate. The line includes Charter Arms Pink Lady 38 Special and Lavender Lady 38 Special. Another popular choice is Charter Arms Pathfinder chambered in .22 LR and .22 Magnum.
