The story of Sitka began on a cold rainy September morning in a tent set thousands of feet up in the mountains. The weather was unforgiving, and the gear didn’t live up to the expectations of a small group of outdoor enthusiasts. Some people prefer to file complaints and return equipment they are not satisfied with. That wasn’t the case for the future Sitka founders. They took a different approach and decided to create gear they would want to use themselves. Unsurprisingly, Sitka began with a prototype gear for hunting big game in extreme mountain environments. Their first attempt was an astounding success, and Sitka expanded to other hunting pursuits. After a while, the Sitka gear line included apparel for waterfowl and deer hunters. As of now, the Sitka hunting gear line comprises garments for all types of game and weather conditions.
