The NCSTAR .223 Cartridge Red Laser Bore Sighter (TLZ223) is designed for .223 (5.56 NATO) chambers ONLY. Do NOT attempt to insert the .223 boresighter into a different sized chamber. Doing so may cause damage to the boresighter and/or the rifle chamber.

Be sure that your firearm is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction before attempting to insert the boresighter. Always practice safe firearms handling procedures.

To install the battery twist the end cap of the boresighter counter clockwise to open the battery housing. Insert the three(3) supplied batteries (LR41) into the battery negative end first. Be certain that the batteries are all facing in the proper direction to ensure proper function of your boresighter. Twist the end cap counter clockwise until it is slightly snug. At this point you should visibly see the red laser. To turn the boresighter off simply twist the end cap counter clock wise until you no longer see the red laser. If you plan to store the boresighter for a long period of time without use, remove the batteries to preserve power life.

In order to zero your firearm set your rifle or other firearm in a gun vise or other stable platform so that it does not move. Turn the boresighter to the ON position. Insert your boresighter completely into the empty chamber. Avoid closing the action as the extractor may damage the boresighter. You may sight in your firearm at any desired distance that the laser is visible at (25 yards is recommended). Align your firearm so that the laser is centered on the bulls-eye. Adjust your scope (according to the Manufacturers specifications) so that the reticle of the scope matches with the laser and bulls-eye alignment. You now have a rough zero that should get you "on paper. Remember to remove the boresighter before attempting to load your firearm with live ammunition. Turn the boresighter OFF to preserve battery life, and store in a cool, dry place. It is necessary to confirm zero for firing at the target and making further adjustments so that firearm and sighting combination are perfectly accurate.

Do not dry-fire your firearm while the boresighter is inserted. Doing so may cause damage to the boresighter and will void the Limited One-Year Warranty

For the price, you can't beat the bore sighter. Make sure to take the batteries out when not in use or the batteries will go dead. As much as I use a bore sighter, I didn't want to spend too much on one. Definitely glad I bought this one.
