The Taylor's & Company 1858 Remington Conversion allows a shooter to switch from .45LC to .44 black powder by removing the breech plate, cartridge cylinder, and replacing them both with a spare black powder cylinder. Along with the original conversion design, these revolvers retain other original features: the forged frames are dovetailed to allow the loading gate assembly to slide into place and a modern ejector rod incorporated into the original black powder loading lever with a small notch cut into the loading lever itself. The revolvers are available with a two-piece walnut grip, octagonal barrel, blued finish, and brass triggerguard.
