Evolved from the 1860 Henry rifle, the CIMARRON 1866 Yellowboy Lever Action Rifle was the first Winchester rifle. It became known as the Yellowboy because of it's distinctive brass frame and was an instant success. Originally chambered for the rimfire .44 Henry cartridge, the 1866 improved on flaws in the original Henry design by incorporating a loading gate on the side of the frame, and adding a round sealed tubular magazine covered by the forend.
The modern day replica from Cimarron is true to the original design, while using modern metallurgy and manufacturing methods. The resulting firearm shoots modern ammo and is a great choice for Cowboy Action shooting or for the collection of any fan of the Old West.
